Tip for better dream recall/being able to dream: Make sure your last meal of the day is at least 3-4 hours before you go to sleep.

This is true and a glass of water before bed helps. Idk if it’s true for everyone but it works for me. Having that clear intensions to travel or do work with your guides helps. If you have a bad memory, you can write about your travels as soon as you wake up. I remember all intense and fun dream travels. Sometimes I’ll write about them on my blog but I keep most intimate things to myself.

Thanks for the addition! Water before bed can help b/c the body gets dehydrated as we sleep, so you can offset some of that and are less likely to wake up in the middle of the night for hydration.

I always recall lucid dreams regardless of my meal times and hydration status so I wouldn’t know. The key is to write down or do an audio recording to describe what we remember once we wake up from a dream. Also, keep up the habit. If you don’t consistently record them, your brain may assume that you don’t need the memories and you will find yourself recalling less and less. I hope this helps.

My lucid or traveling dreams are like memories of things as if they happened in my life like remembering the past. So to write them isn’t necessary. Just remembering these dreams for me is good enough. Everyone has their own way of doing things. Whatever works for you, works for you but helpful advice anyway in case someone feels struck or needs other suggestions to do the same thing.
