“When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.”
Isaiah 8:19-20 NIV (2011)
What about all the other prophets?
See, this is why I have some trouble with the Bible. I belive it exists to divide and bring us together. Thinking about all the things lost in translations and also my experiences, I can’t say I agree or disagree with this scripture.
I agree God is source and who we should go to but I believe God sends us help. He created drs and medications. He created spirits and souls. Why not take advantage of what he’s created?
“Their God” implies different kinds of God too. If it’s assumed everyone worships one God, then its thier version of the God who “wrote” the bible. Meaning my God is different from your God because we have different perspectives of who God is. It doesn’t make them DIFFERENT but different expressions of the same. Just an observation.
@quotesfromscripture spirituality isn’t proven or backed by science therefore it’s impossible to claim anyone an expert in such. Also to claim you are an expert is like surfacing your ego which is a form of pride and sin. If pride is sin, claiming you are an expert in the Bible or spirituality matters, means you’re going to hell.
This is why I don’t claim to know everything about spirituality. I can only go by my own experiences. I refuse to listen to anyone who thinks they know everything spiritually. Because none of us really do until we are dead. My faith lies with God and God only. Not with religion or people who think they know everything. None of us truly do.
